Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 25, 2026

AirCare India is a free, utility-first air quality tool. Our core principle is minimal data collection: we only process the data strictly necessary to show you real-time AQI and health advice. We do not sell data, run ads by default, or create user profiles.

1. Information We Collect

AirCare India is designed to minimise data collection. We collect:

Location data — Only when you explicitly tap "Use my location". Your coordinates are sent directly to OpenWeatherMap to retrieve local AQI data. We do not store coordinates on our servers.

City search queries — The city name you type is passed to OpenWeatherMap's geocoding API. We do not log or store search queries.

AI prompts — If you use the AI Health Advisor, your AQI value and activity intent are sent to OpenRouter (via a free Llama model). No personally identifiable information is included.

Server logs — Standard Next.js / hosting provider logs may capture IP addresses and request paths for security purposes. These are retained for a maximum of 30 days.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal data described above solely to:

• Fetch and display real-time air quality data for your location or searched city

• Generate personalised health advice via the AI Advisor feature

• Monitor service health and diagnose technical issues

3. Third-Party Services

AirCare India integrates with the following third-party providers:

OpenWeatherMap (openweathermap.org) — Provides all AQI, pollutant, and historical data. Your city name or GPS coordinates are transmitted to their API. See their Privacy Policy at openweathermap.org/privacy-policy.

OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) — Provides AI inference for the Health Advisor feature. AQI values and activity descriptions (no personal data) are transmitted. See their Privacy Policy at openrouter.ai/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

AirCare India does not use tracking cookies or analytics SDKs. The application may store minimal state (e.g., dismissed alert banners) in browser memory for the duration of your session only. No persistent cookies are set by AirCare India itself.

If Google AdSense is activated in the future, it will set its own cookies as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security

All communication between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. We do not maintain a user database and therefore do not store passwords, email addresses, or personal profiles.

6. Children's Privacy

AirCare India is a general-public health utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through this service, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not maintain a user account system or persistent personal data store, most data-subject rights (access, erasure, portability) are not applicable to the data we handle. If you have concerns about server log data, you may contact us at the email below and we will address your request within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of AirCare India after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
